Design Week 2016

Katy Johnson

TIG is excited to jump into all the energy and inspiration of West Michigan Design Week. It’s Design Week’s third year, and there is tons going on.

The full week kicked off on Saturday in Downtown GR with a party that included live screen printing by our friends at Ambrose. The rest of events promise to be just as engaging with architecture tours, design talks, lunch panels, and much more. Check out the full line up here.

If you’re looking for a couple week highlights, you’ll see plenty of Image Group peeps at the following locations:

Ashleigh Axios, The D.C. Designer

City Flats Hotel Ballroom

Creative Director and digital strategist for the White House, Ashleigh Axios will share on her experiences facilitating meaningful engagement through digital systems between the administration and the public. President of AIGA Washington, DC and one of Essence Magazine’s 29 most powerful black women in the Obama Administration, Ashleigh promises to incite interesting discussion and a more global perspective for those who attend. Hope to see you there!

Muskegon Studio on Tap

Wednesday, April 13

Enjoy Design Week’s evening of drinks, food, brew masters and design. We hope you’ll join some of the TIG team in catching the trolley to stop in at Concept A, Revel, and Unruly Brewing. We’ll tour the studios, meet some fantastic designers and share some laughs along the way.

Mimi Valdés, The Multimedia Maker

Thursday, April 14
Wealthy St Theatre

As Pharrell Williams’ Chief Creative Officer, Mimi Valdés has exerted her design sense across a wide range of media: music videos, album covers, movie production, concert performances and even philanthropy initiatives. We’re excited to hear Valdés discuss her perspective, experience, and belief in stories that inspire, entertain, and educate.

Come for one event or come for all of them, but don’t miss your shot to meet some incredible local and national designers.

We’ll see yah there! #wmdesignweek
